The short answer is no. Our mission is to center the voices of women, nonbinary, genderqueer, and other marginalized genders, especially those historically underrepresented in mountain literature. But we also believe in making mountain writing more accessible to everyone — particularly to people who might not have ready access to formal training, MFA programs, and networking opportunities. Our writer resources are available to everyone for free on our website, and we encourage people of all genders to keep checking in as more resources become available.

You can subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed, attend some of our events, or make a donation. Sharing our work with your networks — writers, educators, editors, and readers who might benefit from what we're building — is also one of the most meaningful things you can do.

Desire Lines exists to shift what mountain literature looks like, and that work is bigger than any one community. Everyone has a role to play.
